অনমনীয় মুদ্রাস্ফীতি চলছে,
বাজারে বাড়ছে জিনিষের দাম,
বুঝতে পারছিনা, এসব কি হচ্ছে?

অর্থনীতিবিদরা কি নিদ্রায়?
রাজনীতি সুখেই বসে আছে ক্ষমতায়,
আকশচুম্বী হয়েছে ঘর-বাড়ির দাম
ঘর ভাড়া বাড়ছে দ্রুততায়।
তেলের দাম বেড়েছে, বিদ্যুত-গ্যাসের বিল বেড়েছে,
শাক-সবজি, মাছ-মাংস সবকিছুর দাম বেড়েছে,
নাপিতের জন্য গুনতে হচ্ছে বাড়তি মুদ্রা,
বাড়েনি উপার্জন, কেউ কি কিছু শুনেছে?
এদিকে, বামন চিকা খেয়েই যাচ্ছে প্রতিদিন
যাই পাচ্ছে তাই খাচ্ছে বিরতিহীন
ক্ষুধা যেন অন্তহীন, জানেনা ঐ অর্বাচীন
মৃত্যু আসন্ন, সুমুখে সমাসীন।
তবুও মানুষ বাঁচতে চায়,
মস্ত বড় নীল তিমির মত, খেতে চায়
প্রতিদিন গোগ্রাসে গিলছে ১৫ লক্ষ ক্যালরি প্রতীক্ষায়
দুইশত বছর দীর্ঘ পরমায়ু, বসে থাকে মন্দার অপেক্ষায়।।

Inflexible inflation continues,
