সমাজে অধিপতিরা তৈলচিত্রে এঁকে দেয় ন্যায়-নীতি,
রাজনীতির দণ্ডে, পলে পলে, দোলাচলে ভয়-ভীতি,
নিষ্পিষ্ট হয় রীতি, বারে বারে লঙ্ঘিত হয় সারি সারি বীথি,
জাতির ভাগ্য রঞ্জিত করে আসে নব নব তিথি,
লুণ্ঠিত হয় সিঁদুরে অংকিত, লোহিত রঙিন সিঁথি,
কেউ শোনে কেউ শোনেনা মানবতার প্রীতি,
যুক্তির ভ্রান্তিতে মৃতবৎ কল্যাণ কৃতি,
সমাজ সংকুচিত হয় নিতি।
রাজপতিরা, রাজ্য সভায়, নিত্য করেন জন-হিতি
মুদ্রিত হয় বেদনা-বিধুর স্মৃতি,
বিচার কুণ্ঠিত হয়, লঙ্ঘিত হয় পরি-মিতি,
শঙ্কিত হয় কাশ্যপ কন্যা, দৈত্য মাতা, অদিতি,
অবিচল ছুটে চলে অসাধু প্রতিভা গীতি,
বৃত্তে রচিত হয়, ঐতিহাসিক ইতি।

The leaders paint, morals & ethics of a society,
Punish from time to time, by the power holders in polity;
Fright oscillate from here to there,
Customs disintegrate, layer after layer,
Row upon row of vistas are violated, hour after hour,
The fate of the nation is tinged with new tower,
No one listens, no one listens to the love of humanity,
We live in the language of insanity,
Mortal welfare work in the error of reason,
Society is shrinking in a disorderly fashion.
