শেষ পর্য্যন্ত কি হবে? সেই কথা আর হলোনা ত বলা
ব্যাঘ্রের লিখনি অবধি দিগন্তে হারিয়েছে পথ চলা
চিন্তা-চেতনা হারিয়েছে নির্ভিকতার ডানা
ইতিহাসের মিলন হয়েছে, শুধু হয় নাই জানা
শেষ পর্য্যন্ত কি হবে?  

শেষ পর্য্যন্ত কি হবে? সেই কথার কোন খোজ নেই
ইতিহাস রচিত হয়েছে কলমের ছাঁচেই,
রাজনীতি বিবৃত হয়েছে লিখনির হাতেই
উপদেশ দেয়া হয়েছে ভালোবেসেই,
তবুও খুঁজে পাওয়া যায়নি, শেষ পর্য্যন্ত কি হবে?

শেষ পর্য্যন্ত কি হবে? ব্যাঘ্র, কার আছে অজানা
জীবনের প্রান্ত সকল মানবের ঠিকানা
সেই ঠিকানার দিকে দ্রুত এগুচ্ছে সীমানা
ইতিহাস রচিত হবে, থাকবেনা কোন মালিকানা
একজন ছাড়া সকলের অজানা, শেষ পর্য্যন্ত কি হবে?

ব্যাঘ্র! একটু হাসুন, যদি লিখতেই হয়, আরেকটু লিখুন
ন্যায় অন্যায় খোলামেলা বলুন,
অন্তরের সংশয় নিয়ে আর কত দিন বাঁচবেন, ভাবুন
রাজনীতিতে শেষ কথা বলে কোন কথা নেই মানুন
সেই কথাটি নিঃসংশয়ে বলুন, জানা নেই শেষ পর্য্যন্ত কি হবে?
