নরেন বৈরাগীর বাড়ীর পাশে
ছিলো একটি পঁচা জলের ডোবা
সেথায় এই কচুরিপানা আমি
আমার অন্য সহোদরদের নিয়ে
উঠেছিলাম বেড়ে।
একাত্ত্বরের কোন এক দিনে
সেই নরেন বৈরাগীর বাড়ি
এসেছিলো খাকি পোশাক পড়া
একদল পাক মেলেটারি
অস্ত্র নিয়ে তেড়ে।
দুই কোলে দুই খোকা নিয়ে
নেমে নরেন এই জলের ডোবায়
আমাদেরকে মাথায় দিয়ে তারা
একটু বাঁচার আশায়
সেঁজেছিলো জংলী মহিষের পাল।
এমন সময় জলের কলস নিয়ে
ফেরে বাড়ি বৈরাগীর বউ
দেখে তারে কাল্লু রাজাকার উঠলো বলে
'দে সোনা তোর ফুলের মৌ
ইয়ে আওরাত কামাল।'
শুনে তা হিংস্র পশুর দল
উঁচিয়ে বন্ধুক আর অট্টহাসি দিয়ে
ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়লো তার উপর
তখন আমার নিচে লুকিয়ে থাকা
ছোট্ট খোকা দিলো চিৎকার।
অমনি হলো শুরু গুলি
গেলো চলে চারও তাজা প্রাণ
আর আহত আমি কেঁদে কেঁদে বলেছিলাম
"হে সৃষ্টিকর্তা, হোক ধ্বংস এই পাকিস্তান
জয় হোক সংগ্রামী জয় বাংলার।"
