কে তুমি?
- মানুষ আমি।
কী তব পরিচয়?
- মনুষ্যত্বই আমার পরিচয়।
কেন তব আগমন এ ধরাধাম?
- কর্মের তরে,
- যে কর্মে স্মরিবে সৃষ্টি অগোচরে মম নাম।
না পারলে রেখে যেতে এ ভবে কর্মের ছাপ;
এ আসা নিরর্থক, এ যে নিছক অভিশাপ।
অথচ তা ভুলে মগ্ন আমি আপনাতে অবিরাম
আপনারই কল্যাণে ঝরাই কেবল শ্রম-ঘাম
আরো যারা আছে হেথা
বয়ে চলে দুঃখ-ব্যথা
তাদেরে অবজ্ঞায় আমি পর করিলাম।
আমি যদি গত হই
কারো মনে নাহি রই
কেন তবে এ ভবে আসিলাম?
ভেবে যবে আকুল হই
প্রতিজ্ঞায় অবিচল হই
আমার আমি’রে তব তরে সঁপিলাম।

Identity
Who are you?
- I am human.
What is your identity?
- Humanity is my identity.
But what is your purpose in this world?
- To work!
- the work that will be remembered by creations in my absence.
If I can’t leave the impression of my work here
Worthless is my arrival, a curse – it is!
But forgetting my worth I was sunken in myself
My sweaty labour only for my wellbeing
There are others who are here
Suffering they bear
I disown them in contempt!
When I am gone,
If no one remembers
Why was I placed in this world?
Pondering this, worries me
And persisting in my promise
I have surrendered - me of myself to you!
