স্বাধীনতা মানে কি আজ কেবলই মানুষে-মানুষে হানাহানি,
স্বাধীনতা মানে কি আজ একে অন্যের খাবার নিয়ে টানাটানি!
স্বাধীনতা মানে কি আজ মানুষের জীবন নিয়ে ছিনিমিনি খেলা,
স্বাধীনতা মানে কি আজ রক্তপাত আর অশ্রুপাতের মেলা!
স্বাধীনতা মানে কি আজ কেবলই একের ভূমিতে অন্যের আগ্রাসন,
স্বাধীনতা মানে কি আজ একের সমস্যায় অন্যের উল্লম্ফন!
স্বাধীনতা মানে কি আজ বিশ্বাস আর অবিশ্বাসের বাড়াবাড়ি,
স্বাধীনতা মানে কি আজ ক্ষমতা আর মসনদ নিয়ে কাড়াকাড়ি!
স্বাধীনতা মানে কি আর হবে না কভু –
একে অন্যের মতের প্রতি সমান শ্রদ্ধাশীল,
জাতি-ধর্ম-বর্ণ নির্বিশেষে মনুষ্যত্বের অন্ত্যমিল;
বিচিত্র ফুলের সমারোহে কানন যে-করে হয় রঙিন,
সকল সুরের সম্মিলনে বেজে উঠা কোনো ঐক্য-বীণ!

Does freedom mean today, to pull each other's food!
Does freedom mean today, to play snoopy game with people's lives!
Does freedom mean today, to exhibit the bleeding and shedding tears!
Does freedom mean today, to execute aggression by one on other's land!
Does freedom mean today, to frisk on one problems by other's!
Does freedom mean today, to abundance the faith and atheism!
Does freedom mean today, to scrimmage for the power and throne!
Will freedom means be no more
Equally respectful of each other's views,
Happy ending of humanity, irrespective of caste or creed;
As the different colour of the varied flowers make the gardens colourful,
All the melody of the harmony get together to make an unique tune!
