খায়রুল আহসান

বাংলাদেশের চট্টগ্রামে জন্ম হলেও খায়রুল আহসান এর পৈত্রিক নিবাস লালমনিরহাট জেলার আদিতমারী উপজেলায়। তার কবিতা লেখা শুরু হয় ছাত্র জীবন থেকেই। প্রখ্যাত শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান মোমেনশাহী ক্যাডেট কলেজে অধ্যয়নকালে কলেজ বার্ষিকী সম্পাদনা পরিষদের সদস্য ছিলেন। সরকারী চাকুরি থেকে অবসর নেয়ার পর থেকে লেখালেখি পূর্ণোদ্যমে শুরু করেছেন। এ যাবত তার পাঁচটি বই প্রকাশিত হয়েছে। মানব প্রেম, প্রকৃতির প্রেম এবং স্রষ্টা ও সৃষ্টির মধ্যকার প্রেম, এই তিনটি বিষয়ই প্রধানতঃ তার কবিতাগুলোর মূল উপজীব্য বিষয়। ব্যক্তিজীবনে তিনি তিন পুত্রের জনক। লেখালেখি, ঘোরাঘুরি এবং কিছু সমাজ কল্যাণমূলক কাজে অংশ নেয়াই তার এখনকার প্রধান শখ। রবীন্দ্র সঙ্গীত এবং নজরুলের প্রেমের গান ও দ্রোহের কবিতা তার চিরকালের অনুপ্রেরণা। খায়রুল আহসান ৭ বছর ৬ মাস হলো বাংলা-কবিতায় আছেন।

Though born in Chottogram, Khairul Ahsan originally hails from the district of Lalmonirhat. He used to write poems, both in Bangla and English, from his school days. He was a member of the editorial board of the College Magazine of Momenshahi Cadet College (later on renamed as 'Mirzapur Cadet College), where he studied. After retirement, he has engaged himself in poetry writing at his leisure. Mainly love for humanity, love for mother nature and love for the Creator provide him the inspiration for his writings. He has so far published four books on poetry (three in Bangla and one in English) and one autobiographical memoir. Besides writing, he spends his time in some social works and travelling. Songs and other literary works of Nobel Laureate Rabindra Nath Tagore and the immortal love songs of our National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam have inspired and enlightened him all throughout his life. He has three sons who are well established in the society.
